This project was constructed on rich red expanisive clay soils. The clients brief was to maximize the views in combination with providing maximum entertaining space around a new pool. We achieved this by following the landscape architect's plans and specifications. This required our construction team to he defigent with measurements and heights. As the salt water chlorinated pool was to be up to 1.5m out of the ground, it required the wan to be extra thick and double reinforced. The suspended concrete deck required concrete columns and reinforced bond beams. The sandstone wall has a corefided concrete masonary wall at its core. The architect's request for a chunky look was achieved with a no mortar style of adhering the sandstone to the masonary wall. The Cabana and boathouse were constructed in materials sympathetic for texture and colour to those of the existing house. Both have Council approval. We believe this is a pleasing long life, minimal care landscape, achieving all that the client asked for.
